With five strikeouts in two innings, Joel Zumaya wowed the all-time strikeout king.

“That’s the best arm I’ve seen since I don’t know when,” said Nolan Ryan, who watched those five Zumaya strikeouts Saturday night from his front-row seat near the Rangers’ dugout. “His fastball was electric.”
Zumaya was throwing with his usual high-90s-and-up velocity. But Ryan was impressed by something beyond the speed of the pitches.
