No matter what your political views are, no matter what your feelings are about Michigan football coach Rich Rodriguez, what Vice President Joe Biden pulled at a memorial for the miners who died in the tragic mining accident earlier this month was disgusting at worst, pandering at best.

As you will see in the accompanying video, Vice-President Biden used the hate for Rodriguez to get cheap applause at the memorial. I find this despicable. Let me remind you that I support much of what Joe Biden believes in. I also believe that Rodriguez deserves one more year at Michigan, but has resembled Pinocchio in much of his dealings throughout his Michigan tenure.  Nevertheless, Biden is 100 percent wrong for bringing him up in this manner at this event.

Please go to the 2:08 mark of the video for the Rodriguez comments.  Isn’t it ironic that Biden’s boss, President Obama will be at Michigan Stadium delivering the 2010 commencement address on Saturday.

God bless the friends and family of the miners who passed away working such a dangerous job.

Are you kidding me? That was absolutely appropriate. He was describing how these guys were average joes who were just like every other WV’ian who were unfortunately killed just by going to work to make a paycheck. You may call it pandering, but that is kind of the point, to relate to a group of people who lost someone who the audience loved deeply. Seriously… talk about being oversensitive.

To start, I can not stand the current administration, however, I didn’t see anything wrong with this. I would say most Christian Eulogies are given from compiled information from friends and family. It’s not like Joe Biden “pretended or created” the fact those guys didn’t like the way coach left. With the eruption of those in attendance, they too sounded like they knew it was a fact the those who perished would have agreed.
