Lions' coach Jim Schwartz: Expand Playoff OT Rule To Regular Season

When the NFL holds its spring meeting today in Dallas, the 2014 Super Bowl will be awarded to New York, South Florida or Tampa Bay. But the league also will discuss changing the overtime rules for the regular season, having changed them for the playoffs.
As it stands now, the first team that scores in overtime wins a regular-season game. But in the playoffs, the team that gets the ball first would need a touchdown to end the game. A field goal would give the other team a possession.
