Detroit Man Faces Life For Sex With Young Girls
A Detroit man is facing the possibility of life without parole after he allegedly had sex with two underage girls. Officials say 53-year-old Dennis Malone sexually assaulted a 12-year-old girl, and was also charged last week in a similar case involving a 15-year-old.
Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy announced the seven charges of criminal sexual conduct Wednesday.
Worthy told reporters that Malone was an unregistered sex offender.
"As far as unregistered sexual offenders, we've been told by the U.S. Marshall's office, that in the Detroit area there are over 1,200 of them, and those are only the ones that we know about," she said.
"We have a large problem with compliance in this state, as this case well-illustrates," Worthy said.
Officials believe the 12-year-old introduced the 15-year-old to Malone.
