Whitmore Lake Man Missing After Saving Son, Friend

The search continues this morning for a Whitmore Lake man believed to have drowned in Livingston County's Zukey Lake.

WWJ's Ron Dewey reports this happened after the victim had just saved his son and his son's friend from the same predicament.

Hamburg Township police say the man's 16-year-old son and a family friend were swimming near the family pontoon when one of the boys started drifting away and called for help. The 58-year-old dove in after them. After helping them back to the boat, the boys lost sight of him.

Divers from the Livingston and Washtenaw County Sheriff's departments and area fire departments aided in the initial search which turned up no sign of the man.
