Police in Eastpointe are working to find out whether arson is behind a Thursday night fire on Sprenger Street — the same street where residents this week received a series of racially threatening letters.
No one was home at the time, and no injuries were reported. It wasn’t clear if the people living in the home received one of the letters that arrived by mail earlier this week.
The letters and envelopes are expected to be collected as evidence and sent to the Michigan State Police Crime Lab for DNA and fingerprint analysis.
