Local Businesses Stiffed by Film Company

The Townsend Hotel is suing an out-of-town film company for not paying for rooms and dining last summer during the production of the movie "Little Murder" that was shot in Detroit.

The lawsuit filed in Oakland County Circuit Court accuses Little Murder Productions and Mind in Motion Entertainment of not making good on their account. No immediate comment available from the filmmaker's office in Arizona.

They have also been the target of two dozen complaints from Michigan vendors not paid by the filmmaker for goods and services during the Little Murder project. The film company blamed funding problems in the film's $2 million dollar budget.
