Corunna Company Picks Denver Firm’s Logistics Software: Denver-based Cadre Technologies Monday announced Davis Cartage Co. in Corunna as a new client. Davis Cartage will implement Cadre’s Cadence warehouse management and third-party fulfillment systems to accommodate its third-party logistics operations. The Cadence system will expedite inventory processes and reduce the input time of Davis Cartage’s current manual system. Cadence’s RF-based paperless system provides Davis Cartage with automatic inventory updates on the warehouse floor in real-time as physical product moves take place. “Today everything is recorded manually after the fact,” said Davis Cartage accounting manager Kelly Reynolds. “In many cases we are unable to update our system with movements in the warehouse because of the time it takes to enter every move and the fact that product turns quickly. With Cadence we will be able to track movements as they happen on the warehouse floor and provide accurate information to our customers via Cadence’s Web access component at any time. It’s critical for us to have this kind of flexibility in the technology we employ in our warehouse operations.” Davis Cartage is the largest private employer in the city of Corunna and offers both warehouse and transportation services with eight centers in the Mid-Michigan and Southwest Michigan areas. Its third-party warehouse operation serves the needs of a wide variety of customer requirements, while the transportation division offers same day and next day delivery within Michigan and the Great Lakes region, including Canada. Said Daryl Grove, vice president of professional services for Cadre Technologies: “We knew from the beginning that there was an opportunity for significant improvement in the efficiency of their operation by moving to a real-time mobile RF-based application like Cadence.” Founded in 2001, Cadre Technologies is a warehouse management software company for the fulfillment, logistics and manufacturing industries. Cadre’s software integrates critical processes including warehouse, order, labor, transportation and financial management systems, as well as advanced wireless communications, speech and remote computing technologies. Cadre is the largest software provider to the third-party logistics industry. With more than 200 customers in North America, its clients include Procter & Gamble, OHL, Dependable Distribution, Midwest Warehouse, and many other distribution and 3PL companies.
