Baseball Tryouts For Feature Film
Calling all amateur baseball players between the ages of 11 and 13. A posting on the Michigan Youth Baseball Forum says the feature film "Home run Showdown" is casting real-life, really good, young baseball players Tuesday at the Southfield Civic Center Park on Evergreen Road.
Organizers say these are not auditions, but baseball tryouts. The players chosen from these tryouts will be special ability baseball players in the movie.
The times for the tryouts are 1 p.m. for outfielders, 1:45 p.m. for infielders and 2:30 p.m. for pitchers and catchers.
The posting says: If your child falls into the following categories, please come out!
MAJOR- Any players on the team
AAA- Must be in the Top 5 on the team
AA- Must be in the Top 3 on the team
The movie will be shooting in the area this August.
There will be some paperwork for you to fill out and then the kids will do a baseball tryout with Sports Coordinator, Mark Ellis of Sports Studio.
Players should wear baseball clothes and bring all of their equipment (bats, gloves, water bottle, helmets, cleats, catchers gear if applicable, etc) and be prepared to play.
Parents will need to sign a release form and please have their child's social security number available.
