Ex-Piston Johnson Says Team Faces Years Of Rebuilding

Former Detroit Pistons great Vinnie Johnson said it may be several years before the team turns around.

"It's going to be two or three years before they get it together," Johnson said in an interview after an event here today to unveil the new 2011 Ford Explorer. "Hopefully, if they make the right trades and draft the right people, but it's going to be a challenge for at least two to three years before you can see those guys hopefully contending again."

Last season, the Pistons had a 27-55 record, finishing last in the Central Division, which was their worst record since 1994. It was the first time they missed the playoffs since the 2000-2001 season.
