Exports Conference Planned For Detroit

Hundreds of business leaders, entrepreneurs and government officials are expected to gather in Detroit this fall for a conference focused on boosting exports by leveraging environmentally friendly technologies.

The East Michigan District Export Council announced Tuesday that it will host the "2010 International District Export Councils Conference: Capitalizing on America's Export Advantages in Green and Innovation.''

Organizers say about 600 people are expected to participate. They'll explore how companies can enhance their export competitiveness and strengthen the nation's position as an innovator and producer of green technologies.

The event that aims to help expand international trade is Oct. 24-27 at the Detroit Marriott at the Renaissance Center.
