Silverdome Owner Seeks Fan Input On Vuvuzelas

If you think vuvuzelas were loud at the outdoor venues of the recently completed World Cup, imagine how loud they'd be inside the Pontiac Silverdome.

If enough are in favor, Detroit-area soccer fans might just find out.

The 82,000-seat indoor venue's owner is asking fans whether the buzzing, plastic horns should be permitted at the Aug. 6 match between club teams AC Milan of Italy and Panathinaikos FC of Greece.

Fans can weigh in at the Silverdome's website.

The constant drone of vuvuzelas during World Cup matches in South Africa was a source of annoyance to broadcasters and players alike.

The Silverdome is the former home of the Detroit Lions. It is owned by Triple Investment Group LLC, which acquired the facility and began renovations last year.
