edwards matthew2 Visitation For Fallen Taylor Police OfficerA second day of visitation Wednesday for Taylor police officer Matthew Edwards, who was shot and killed last Friday while investigating an apparent domestic dispute.

Visitation takes place from 4-8 p.m. at the Howe-Peterson Funeral Home on Telegraph in Taylor. Then, at 9 a.m. Thursday, officers will gather at Beacon Baptist Church on Northline, in Taylor, where Edward’s funeral service will begin at noon.

Meanwhile, 36-year-old Tyress Mathews, who is being held in connection with the shooting, remains hospitalized with a gunshot wound. The Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office said it has not yet received a warrant request in the case.
