Visitation For Fallen Taylor Police Officer
A second day of visitation Wednesday for Taylor police officer Matthew Edwards, who was shot and killed last Friday while investigating an apparent domestic dispute.
Visitation takes place from 4-8 p.m. at the Howe-Peterson Funeral Home on Telegraph in Taylor. Then, at 9 a.m. Thursday, officers will gather at Beacon Baptist Church on Northline, in Taylor, where Edward's funeral service will begin at noon.
Meanwhile, 36-year-old Tyress Mathews, who is being held in connection with the shooting, remains hospitalized with a gunshot wound. The Wayne County Prosecutor's Office said it has not yet received a warrant request in the case.
