Lions Fans Come Out In Force

Hope springs eternal once again for the Honolulu Blue-and-Silver faithful.

Hundreds of Lion fans turned out for the open practices today with hopes of a good showing during a regular season...and perhaps a reason to be cheering for the team into early next year.

At least 200 fans were in line outside the gate at the Allen Park training facility, waiting for first of the team's two open practice sessions today. There were a few Nadomikong Suh number 90 jerseys in the crowd, with hopes for a glimpse of their favorite team's next big hope. Fans were glad first-round draft pick Nadomikong Suh came to terms on a contract that gets him on the practice field sooner, not later.

Rob Mitter of Dearborn was glad there was no big drama over a contract. "It's good to see....the more he can practice, the more he can get to know the team, its gonna benefit them as a whole he's got a lot of upside, the more you see him, the more we can see what he can do," he said.

Put Lion fan on the spot for a prediction, the most common response heard was 8-8, with hopes of a playoff spot under the Christmas tree..."Maybe the playoffs," said
Sharon Beatty. "That is, if Brett Favre doesn't come back."
