Drug Bust In DetroitA major drug bust in Detroit.

Interim Detroit Police Chief Ralph Godbee and federal agents announced Thursday they seized prescription drugs, heroin, six handguns, two rifles, two vehicles and $18,000 thousand in cash from a party store on West Grand Blvd.

The heroine and other drugs have a street value of $1.4 million, according to Godbee.

“We’ve disrupted a major operation,” William Hayes from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement said at Detroit Police headquarters. “The guns, the amount of drugs that were found, the currency, the sophistication of the operation is important for us to highlight to the public, but it also highlights the fact that we’re gonna disrupt it.”

Hayes say officers and agents are following up on more leads. He says federal, state and local authorities “have significantly disrupted the flow of drugs in our community” since the collaboration was set up late last year.

Warrants are being sought for three men, two from West Bloomfield and one from Farmington Hills, who have been implicated in the bust.
