Energy Optimization participating utilities are continuing to spread the message about saving money, saving energy, and saving the environment by using energy-saving light bulbs.

To help customers make the switch from incandescent bulbs to compact fluorescent light bulbs, the utilities are giving them away. Each residential customer is eligible for nine free CFLs. To receive the free bulbs, customers can visit, select their utility, and click on the free CFL icon. Customers then simply enter their electric account number, name, phone number and the promotion code CFL80. The free package of bulbs will be shipped directly to the service address on their electric bill in six to eight weeks.

Participating electric providers include: Alger Delta Co-op Electric Association, City of Escanaba, Cloverland Electric Co-op, Great Lakes Energy Co-op, HomeWorks Tri-County Electric Co-op, Marquette Board of Power & Light, Midwest Energy Co-op, Ontonagon County REA, Presque Isle Electric & Gas Co-op and Thumb Electric Co-op.

The offer is valid until Nov. 30 or while supplies last. Limit one order per residential account. Bulbs must be installed in the residence served by participating providers.
