Quicken Loans Moves To Creative Space

Neon paint colored walls and graffiti art on the floor are just a couple of the features in the new Quicken Loans offices in the final stages of construction at the Compuware Building in Detroit.

The designers wanted to capture the company's offbeat culture encompassing the 9th through 13th floors in the Compuware building.

Graphics, installations and photography will be spread throughout the offices, and many of the materials and art come from local artists.

Melissa Price, the facilities director, described the new offices as a "work lounge," and she said the cubicle walls are no higher than 42 inches.

"We're a very collaborative culture, our teams actually requested no glass stackers at the top," said facilities director Melissa Price.

"If you wanted to have the higher walls we went with the glass to still keep it very open and very collaborative... Our team members had a say in every space," Price said.

One employee said  the renovations definitely suit it from a creative perspective, and is looking forward to being able to run with wild ideas in an environment that is "not corporate."

Over 1,700 employees will be moving from their Livonia offices to their new downtown headquarters starting Monday.
