Local Agency: Still Have Job Openings
The Michigan Unemployment Numbers are slated to come out Wednesday afternoon. But, no matter what they say, one Troy recruiting company has some good news.
Diversified Industrial Staffing's CEO Todd Palmer spoke with WWJ Newsradio 950 a few ago about 60 new positions in the automotive and aerospace industry that they're trying to hire.
Palmer tells WWJ they've now secured employment for more than a dozen Detroiters -- and they still have about 50 positions left to fill.
"There is hope. There are plenty of jobs," Palmer said.
"It's just surprising, on a daily basis, how many companies are still looking for these skilled trades people when we're being, you know, told that the manufacturing jobs are dead," he said.
Palmer said the jobs pay $10 to $30 per hour, plus benefits after 30 days.
