Federal investigators say they’re questioning seven people in connection with a fire last week on Detroit’s East side. That fire, near Jefferson and Dickerson, injured six firefighters. A spokesman for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms said the agency won’t reveal any further details – other than the fact that it’s talking with seven people.
Four of the injured fiefighters remain hospitalized in serious condition.
Friends and colegues are being asked to hold off on their visits to allow them to heal.
Monday, investigators confirmed that the fire was the work of an arsonist. No charges have yet been filed, and a $15,000 reward has been posted for information leading to an arrest and conviction in the case.
Three firefighters were critically injured when they were hit by a wall that collapsed last Friday morning. Four others also were injured.
Anyone with information should call 888-ATF-FIRE.
