GalaxE Gets CMMI Level 3

New Jersey-based GalaxE.Solutions Inc., which recently opened an office in downtown Detroit with plans to hire 500 employees there in the next five years, has achieved a Capability Maturity Model Integration Maturity Level 3 rating from the Software Engineering Institute of Carnegie Mellon University.

The IT company was received the rating for Application Development, Maintenance and Production support for its United States and India operations.

The designation is based on a company's ability to provide a process-based approach to the development and support of software, including software engineering and project management.

GalaxE specializes in the design and implementation of custom software.

"We recognized early the need for establishing and managing to CMMI Level 3 standards to enable us to support our clients' critical business requirements to their fullest extent," said Galax.E CEO Tim Bryan. "Our existing best practices and industry certifications have facilitated this being achieved rapidly. While we continue to seek higher maturity/capability levels, this rating is significant, in particular, to our healthcare work considering the needs of HIPAA, 21-CFR-Part11 and other regulatory standards."

CMMI is the international standard for measuring an organization's capability to provide a process-based approach to the development and support of software, including software engineering and project management.

SEI is managed by Carnegie Mellon University and sponsored by the Department of Defense.
