A man from Troy was among five people killed in Tuscola County, in Michigan’s thumb, when a car swerved off the road and slammed into a tree.
The sheriff’s department says that the 38-year-old driver of the Ford Mustang apparently failed to negotiate a curve about 2:20 a.m. Saturday in Koylton Township, about 65 miles north of Detroit.
The department says all five people in the car were pronounced dead at the scene. The department says the driver was a woman from the nearby community of Marlette.
The names of the victims have not been released. It’s not known if alcohol was a factor in the crash
