Florida Firm Selects Ann Arbor's Online Tech For SaaS Hosting

Intelity Corp., a hospitality software company focused on the self-service marketplace, has selected Online Tech as its Software-as-a-Service hosting company for ICE (Interactive Customer Experience) applications.

Orlando, Fla.-based Intelity sought an out-of-state data center to lower their potential risk for natural disasters. The company began a nationwide search to find a data center with managed dedicated servers to host their guest interface software. After evaluating data centers across the United States, Intelity selected Online Tech's mid-Michigan managed data center.

"We were looking for a data center beyond hurricane-prone and tornado-prone areas," said Christopher Grey, Intelity CTO.  "Online Tech provides us the security, reliability, redundancy and fair pricing that we were looking for. The fact they were located in Michigan brings even more value to our partnership."

When choosing a location to host a data center, organizations should choose an area that has a cool, mild climate with a low risk of natural disasters. Online Tech's Ann Arbor and mid-Michigan data centers have unique disaster recovery advantages that meet all of these requirements.

According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration National Climatic Data Center, Michigan was one of the states with the least number of natural disasters from 1980 to 2009. Michigan is also among the states with the lowest tornado risks as depicted on the NOAA Tornado Hazard Map. In regards to hurricanes, Michigan sits in the lowest risk zone according to the American Red Cross map detailing national hurricane hazard areas. In addition, the U.S. Geological Survey's 2008 National Seismic Hazard Mapping project shows that the entire state of Michigan has an extremely low risk of severe earthquakes.

"As companies across the United States look for data centers, the location is something very important to consider," said Online Tech CEO Mike Klein. "With Online Tech offering two Michigan data centers on different power grids, we can lower our customers' risks significantly."

Online Tech owns and manages secure and reliable multi-tenant data centers in Michigan. With a full range of colocation and managed dedicated server offerings, Online Tech's clients dramatically reduce their IT data center costs, operational risks and downtime. Industry leaders trust Online Tech's SAS70 certified data centers to ensure their servers are always on, always online, and always safe.

Intelity's ICE guest interface is offered on hotel TVs; in-room & lobby touch screens; and iPads as well as on guests' laptops and iPhones. ICE also has a backend hotel management tool called ICS (for ICE Control System). Intelity designs its software-hardware products with a focus on generating hotel higher revenues, reducing operating costs and increasing guest satisfaction. More at www.intelitycorp.com.
