Omni Hotels Leaving Detroit

Omni Hotels have decided to leave Detroit. The company says if they can't sell the Omni Detroit Hotel and River Place by October 12th they will close down.

The 108 room hotel has been a riverside fixture for more than a decade.

Spokesperson Karen Kboudi tells WWJ they've always been a popular hideaway spot for celebrities when they're in town, but it wasn't something they talked much about.

"We typically don't make public announcements about those people when they stay at our properties, because we like to protect their privacy," she said.

Kboudi they're trying to help 76 employees find other jobs
