Gov. Granholm A Fan Of Chevy Volt

Count Governor Granholm in as a fan of the Chevy Volt.

But, WWJ Lansing Bureau Chief Tim Skubick learned that there is a bit of sticker shock.

Tim reports that the governor and first gentleman were at the head of the line, driving that Chevy battery-operated Volt. They liked it and the price - it needs to come down, the governor said.

"You want to make sure that the price of electric vehicles is not so high that people won't choose to ride in them. And, that's what the incentives from the federal government do," Granholm said."

Tim asked if she would pay $40,000 for the car. "I'm trying to convince Dan about it," she said. "He controls the purse strings in our family," she added with a chuckle.
