Berkley Schools Lockdown Lifted

A lockdown at Berkley schools Thursday came to a peaceful ending.

Berkley police called for a lockdown at local schools in th early afternoon, after an incident of road rage at 12 Mile and Woodward.

Police said the suspect in that incident left his car at Berkley High School, prompting police to ask for the lockdown.

A short time later, the suspect was arrested at Catalpa and Coolidge.

No further details about the road rage incident or the suspect were being released.

Berkley School District Spokeswoman Shira Good said it's their policy to keep parents informed about lockdowns and other school issues via email and updates on their website.
