Foreclosed Homes Auction

foreclosure sign Foreclosed Homes AuctionThousands of foreclosed homes in Wayne County are being auctioned off to the highest bidder.  But you have to get online, not in line, to see them.

Officials say the tax-foreclosed properties include 5,300 occupied homes and 4,600 rentals.

The number of properties is up 44 percent from last year.

Deputy Treasurer Terrence Keith tells WWJ the owners of theses houses up for bids haven’t paid property taxes in at least the past three years.

Keith said, because of what he calls the staggering number of foreclosures, officials have switched from a live auction to online bidding.

Opening bid on the homes is $500.

if it continualy i enjoy wwj 8 hrs a day mon thru friday. My comment regarding your report on wayne counties property auction was bogus. according to there web site you needed to have stated participating on sept 10. the 500 min bid wwj reported went to 800 and they wanted a 1000 deposit on sept 10. your report on sept 16 did not mention this. i would liketo move into detroit bu not if it continualy run this way. i spent alot of time chading around the links before i realised it was a big waste of time. im sorry my spelling and grammer are not the best.
