New Software Makes Legal Reporting Easier

Grand Rapids-based Springthrough, a leading software and IT solutions company and its affiliate, ieQuery LLC, have unveiled ieQuery Dashboard software.

The new software product provides law firms with updated report generation and dashboard tools to augment time and billing management databases.

The software, originally developed for Grand Rapids-based law firm Mika Meyers Beckett & Jones, consists of a simple-to-use set of dashboard reporting modules that allow users quick and efficient access to information needed to make decisions.  The Dashboard lets law firm staff generate reports such as practice management, conflict of interest reporting, accounting and financial data, productivity analysis by attorney and more, quickly and easily.

Users can also customize security, access and distribution of reports.

"Mika Meyers Beckett & Jones was seeking a faster and easier way to access this kind of critical information from our current system," said Victoria Kobza-Sotak, director of administration. "With ieQuery Dashboard, we can do the same work in a fraction of the time it took before. We spend less time assembling information and more time using it to make important, timely management decisions that support our growth. Individual lawyers can also access information for  clients, on demand, from the Dashboard tool."

She added: "Running conflict of interest checks quickly and thoroughly is a very important part of the client intake process that occurs multiple times each day.  Our firm is using ieQuery Dashboard to provide a conflict of interest report that is concise and readable. As a pdf document, it is easily attached to an e-mail to send to those who need to review the information, whether they are in the office or not. It has vastly improved the process and allows us to open new client matters with same day turnaround."

The software requires no modifications to a firm's existing software, and staff can be trained to run reports in less than an hour. Users can save search results or export them to an easily viewed and shared .pdf file, further improving a firm's ability to respond and react to business changes and opportunities.

"With the existing database alone, information can be difficult to access, requiring multiple steps and menus to complete a simple task," said Mike Williams, president at Springthrough. "IeQuery's advantage is that it can provide access to this information in a highly organized, user-friendly report, and at a fraction of the investment that it would take for a full database upgrade. We make the firm's existing database more valuable."
