Police Seek Man Who Tried To Lure Girl

Royal Oak police are searching for a man they say approached a young girl.

Police Lt. Gordon Young said 10-year-old girl, who is a crossing guard with Oakridge school, was standing at North Alexander and East Bloomfield roads Friday afternoon when the man pulled up next to her and asked if she wanted to go for a ride.

Young said the child ran and hid in a backyard, and the man drove off.

The suspect is described as being about 70-years-old, mostly bald with a few gray hairs, and clean-shaven.

He was driving an older red rusty van with tinted windows. Anyone with information is asked to call Royal Oak Police.
