Boost Basic Skills At Home

For parents of young children, it can be hard to decide what to do to best help develop early language and reading skills.

The Michigan Department of Education has developed materials for parents and educators to help parents boost these skills, particularly over summer months when skills tend to slide. Activities are based on Michigan Curriculum standards, and cover before kindergarten to the beginning of grade 3. The site also contains lists of books and resources for each area.
