Power Staying On At Detroit Firehouses

The natural gas will stay on at 40 Detroit firehouses -- after a final payment notice was sent to the city.

DTE Energy sent the shutoff notice last week, saying the city owed nearly $56,000 for gas service dating back to May. The Detroit News says DTE initially demanded a $30,000 payment to keep the gas on--but then said it was working with the city. Firehouses say the bills are paid by the city, not individual engine houses.
