The St. Joseph biology analysis software developer GeneGo Inc. and Morrisville, N.C.-based Omicsoft Corp., a genomics and proteomics analysis firm, said Wednesday that they had integrated Omicsoft’s Next Generation Sequencing tools with GeneGo’s MetaCore data mining suite.
Array Studio, Omicsoft’s software that provides statistics analysis and visualization tools for genomics and proteomics data, also supports analysis of RNA and DNA sequencing, including a wide variety of gene and mutation data, all in easy-to-use software, providing complete analysis from machine-generated sequence runs to the lists of modified genes and polymorphisms.
Array Studio is seamlessly integrated with GeneGo’s data mining suites MetaCore and MetaDrug, allowing in depth analysis of the users NGS data.
“Omicsoft is delighted to continue its partnership with GeneGo, as the ‘omics’ field enters a new era with next generation sequencing technology,” said Omicsoft Jack Liu. “We feel that our alignment algorithm, coupled with our industry leading visualization and statistical package Array Studio, will allow us to continue to pave the way in the omics industry. The extra benefits provided by NGS platforms, for instance, detection of gene fusion, will play a key role in biomarker discovery in cancer genomics. Integration with GeneGo’s platforms is key to this success, through their tools for systems biology.”
Added Julie Bryant, vice president of business development at GeneGo: “NGS technologies provide the richest content data in life sciences, and we believe that they have one of the most comprehensive solutions. Pathway and network analysis is a natural next step for these complex data, and we are glad that we can provide our customers with a seamlessly integrated workflows from raw sequence data to biologically meaningful hypotheses on biomarkers, drug targets and drug repositioning.”
GeneGo develops systems biology technology such as compound based pathway analysis, cheminformatics & bioinformatics software for life science research. The original computational MetaDiscovery platform allows an integration and expert analysis of different kinds of experimental data and relevant bioactive chemistry within the framework of curated biological pathways and networks. GeneGo’s flagship product, MetaCore 6.3, assists pharmaceutical scientists in the areas of target selection and validation, data mining in biology, identification of biomarkers for disease states and toxicology. The second product, MetaDrug 6.3, is designed for prediction of human metabolism, toxicity and biological effects for novel small molecules compounds.
