Westland Soup Kitchen Calls For Help

For lack of a delivery van, the future of a Westland soup kitchen is very much in doubt. Westland Full Gospel Temple uses a van to pick up food donations from restaurants for its soup kitchen and food pantry. But last night that van was totaled when it was hit by an oncoming car.

Pastor Micheal Enerson tells WWJ that, without a vehicle, the whole program is threatened.

“We  have seniors and some homeless people and  folks that are down on their luck who eat in our soup kitchen everyday and we help keep them alive,” Enerson said.

The Pastor said all donations are plowed back into the program, so they don’t have the money for another van.  He’s hoping someone is able to donate a vehicle to cause.

If you can help, the phone number to call is (734) 326-3333.
