A North Farmington High School student is facing a juvenile probation hearing after a gun was found in his backpack.
The 16-year-old was escorted from the Farmington Hills school and arrested after a report that he had the gun.
School officials said, however, the gun was never exposed and no threats were made.
The teen is being held at a juvenile facility.
North Farmington High was locked down for 10 minutes during the search for the weapon.
“Obviously, an incident like this concerns all of us,” Superintendent Susan Zurvalec said in a statement. “With that said, we are thankful we live in a community where our students, staff, parents/guardians and law enforcement value a safe school. Students remained safe throughout this incident.”
