Gas Prices Rise

Drivers in Michigan are paying a little more for gas this week. AAA Michigan says gasoline prices are up 2.7 cents per gallon over the past week to a statewide average of $2.76.

The statewide average is 37-cents per gallon higher than last year at this time, according to AAA Michigan.

In Metro Detroit, gas prices average $2.75 a gallon.

Of the cities it surveys, the cheapest price for self-serve regular fuel is in the Saginaw/Bay City area, where it's $2.71 a gallon. The highest average can be found in the Marquette area at $2.84.
