Compuware Gomez Launches 15 New International Benchmarks

Gomez, the Web performance measurement division of Detroit-based Compuware Corp. (Nasdaq: CPWR), has launched 15 new international industry benchmarks that provide companies with an unbiased view of the state of Web site performance.

These benchmarks empower companies to improve customer experiences online, provide brand support and drive revenue.

Gomez's benchmarks, recognized as a comprehensive set of global independent Web performance metrics, have been expanded to include benchmarks in five new countries:France, India, Korea, Mexico and the Netherlands. With the addition of these new benchmarks, Gomez now provides 96 international benchmarks across 13 countries including seven for Central and South America, 48 for Asia Pacific and 41 for Europe.

The new international benchmarks measure the performance of the home page -- the front door -- of the Web sites of the selected companies in each industry. The new international home page benchmarks include:

* France: Technology, Travel
* India: Banking, Travel, Retail
* Korea: Banking, Travel, Retail
* Mexico: Banking, Retail, Telco
* Netherlands: Banking, Travel, Retail

"Benchmarking continues to become a valuable tool among leading international companies because it allows companies to proactively manage Web and mobile application performance that drives increased profitability, decreased risk and sustained service differentiation," said Matt Poepsel, vice president of performance strategies at Gomez.

Gomez has doubled the number of global Web and mobile performance benchmarks it has published for over 10 years to more than 100. These benchmarks include more than 3,000 companies in dozens of industries with data generated from over 20 million monthly tests.

Gomez Web benchmarks involve testing the Web sites of target companies using a subset of the Gomez Network, which features more than 150 high-bandwidth "backbone" locations and more than 150,000 actual end-user "Last Mile" locations around the world.

Gomez Mobile benchmarks test mobile-specific versions of target Web sites. These are typically "streamlined" versions of Web sites that were created specifically with the mobile form factor and throughput speeds in mind.

Gomez Business Process benchmarks measure typical multistep processes -- such as purchasing a product or performing a stock trade -- across major brands in the same industry.
