Michigan Money Summit

Making ends meet in tough economic times was among the many topics discussed at the 2010 Michigan Money Summit on Saturday.

The event took place at the Macomb Center for the Performing Arts in Clinton Township.

Speakers on hand to answer questions at the free event were David Sowerby, chief portfolio manager for Loomis Sayles, Dr. Lisa Cook, economist and professor at Michigan State University and Ken Ross, Commissioner for the Michigan Office of Financial and Insurance Regulation. They spoke about the current economic conditions.

Jane McNamara, president and CEO for Greenpath Debt Solutions, Steve Jones, retail investment team leader for Huntington Bank, Leon LaBrecque, Managing Partner and Founder of LJPR, LLC discussed what you can do to prepare for the rest of your life and what the future holds for the economy.

There were also one-on-one counseling sessions with experts who helped attendees with budgeting tips, reducing debt and reviewing an investment portfolio.

WWJ and Fox 2 Business Editor Murray Feldman led the panel discussions.
