Reward Offered In Year-old Murder Case

After nearly a year since the murder of a Royal Oak man in Detroit, his family is hoping a cash reward will bring in some leads. A $2500 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest in the shooting death of 31-year-old Ralph Hale.

Police say Hale was shot and killed while sitting in his car in the area of Plymouth and Schaefer on the city's northwest side last November.

WWJ spoke Wednesday with Detroit police officer Gordon Hampton of the homicide division.

"Any of the information that you may give might help the investigation go through from just what you have already. Any little lead -- it don't have to be a big lead. Just something that you'd seen. It could be a car that you'd seen drive away, a person that may have walked away from the scene," Hampton.

Family members believe a text message lured Hale to that area.
