Sylvan Lake Firm Sells Storage Appliance

Sylvan Lake-based Data Partner Inc. announced that it is now selling the Armada storage appliance from Santa Clara, Calif.-based StorSimple.

Data Partner said it has been working closely with StorSimple and several companies over the last few months in a beta test environment to prove out the cloud storage technology, and the product is formally coming to market this month.

"We've had a close eye on the possibilities of elastic storage -- that is,  paying for only the storage you need when you need it," said Cynthia Meinke, regional director at Data Partner. "StorSimple is the first to market with a solution that promises to securely deliver just that."

The Armada is a hybrid storage appliance that blends the best of on-premise storage, WAN optimization and security.

StorSimple's  Armada 1010 appliance is the first and only cloud storage solution to be certified for Windows Server 2008 R2. StorSimple passed the most stringent "Certified for Windows Server 2008 R2" level. For the first time, Microsoft servers can attach on-premise applications to cloud storage using certified hardware.

Data Partner Inc and StorSimple are hosting a Beer Tasting Event on Oct. 21 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Copper Canyon in Southfield. This no-cost educational event is open to IT professionals who want to understand more about leveraging the cloud for storage. Topics that will be covered at the event include:
