A Detroit Police officer is home recovering,  after being shot while  taking part in a drug raid.  It happend Thursday evening at a house on Gable Street, near 6 Mile and Mound Road on the city’s east side.

The officer that was shot suffered a shoulder wound and was taken to Detroit Receiving Hospital for treatment and has been released. He was wearing a bullet-proof vest.

We’re told he’s a nine year veteran of the department.

Police arrested three suspects that had barricaded themselves in the house that was raided.

Detroit Police Chief Ralph Godbee said he’s just glad that no one was seriously hurt in the ordeal.
