Kids can struggle to find a book to read at a school or public library, and the time to leave can sneak up on them, leaving them without reading material to check out.
It sometimes helps to have an adult talk through some possible book choices based on interests with a student, to get some ideas going early in the visit. Many libraries, school and public, have online catalogs available from home, so that kids can head to the library knowing some titles and call numbers they are interested in.
