Prepare for MEAP

October is MEAP month in Michigan's schools, which test students in grade 3-8 in reading and math each year, and in science and social studies in grade 6 and 9.

Especially if this is the first time your child is taking the MEAP, it is important to help him or her get ready for a standardized test. This means making sure your child gets enough sleep, has a good breakfast, and has a few snacks on hand for breaks during the test. Kids should also be told what the test covers, and why it is important to do his or her best work on it.
