Waterford Woman Hit By Car Dies

A 24-year old Waterford Township woman is dead after she was hit by a car Sunday night in Springfield Township.

The Oakland County Sheriff’s Department says in a statement that Nichole Takach was walking on Andersonville Road near Northwest Ct. just after 8 p.m. when she was hit by a Mercury Mystique.

Takach was transported to Pontiac Osteopathic Hospital and pronounced dead at 9:36 p.m.

Investigators say there aren’t any lights along the roadway and Takach was wearing dark clothes.

The driver of the Mystique, a 46-year old from Davisburg, stopped at the scene and was questioned and released.

The crash remains under investigation.
