Bill Clinton Coming To Michigan

Former President Bill Clinton is coming to Detroit this Sunday to prop up some ailing campaigns. WWJ Lansing Bureau Chief Tim Skubick reports that it's a time-sensitive visit.

"Let's be clear here -- Bill Clinton isn't coming to Detroit and Michigan because he's got nothing better to do.  He's coming here to gin up the base of the Democratic party," Skubick said.

"Lethargy has set in -- particularly, we are told, among Detroit voters. And, Mr. Clinton, who is very popular with Detroit voters, is coming in to help [gubernatorial candidate] Virg Bernero; Gary Peters, the congressperson from  Oakland County; and Mark Shower, who's in a very, very close race in the mid-Michigan area," Skubick said.

The White House has not yet released the details of exactly where President Clinton will visit.
