GM To Invest More In Lansing Plant

General Motors is planning to make a major announcement concerning new investment for its brand new assembly plant on the Lansing-Delta Township border.

Lansing-Delta Township is GM's newest plant and has 4,000 workers on three shifts building some of the company's best-selling products: the new crossovers, which include the GMC Acadia, the Buick Enclave and Chevy Traverse.

The official announcement is at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Lansing mayor and Michigan gubernatorial candidate Virg Bernero says, "I think that's a major announcement of new investment by General Motors, adding to the great plant that we have there."

Bernero has been pushing GM to invest in the other plant in the state capitol: Lansing-Grand River. GM will only say that Wednesday's announcement will be positive news for the Lansing-Delta Township plant.
