Wayne County Morgue's $3.3M Improvement Unveiled
The Wayne County medical examiner's office is unveiling a $3.3 million makeover at its busy morgue in Detroit.
The improvements go on display Thursday and are designed to expand capacity and increase energy efficiency.
The overhaul includes an updating of the heating, cooling and lighting systems.
Officials say it also expands the morgue's cold storage capacity, eliminating the need to keep bodies in a refrigerated trailer outside the morgue.
