Treats For Troops

Trick-or-Treat--for troops.

The Oakland County Sheriff's Department kicked off its 2nd Annual "Treats for Troops" and 24th Annual "Coats for the Cold" Coat Drive Wednesday.

Pre-school kids stopped by in costume to make the first candy donations to the troops.  A large POD container was stationed in the parking lot to accept coat donations for the "Coats for the Cold" drive.

Halloween candy (individually wrapped, no chocolate) may be dropped off at Sheriff's Office substations as well as at 1-800-MINI-STORAGE locations in Oak Park and Troy (more details available at kick-off and at www.oaklandsheriff.com).

Michigan Military Moms that ships care packages to troops will assist with the shipping portion of the project.

Candy Collection will be held  November 1st and 2nd, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. only.  The Coat Drive runs thru the month of November with drop-off sites available at www.oaklandsheriff.com
