Ann Arbor Spark Gets New Accelerator Director: Ann Arbor Spark has added Bill Mayer as business accelerator director and charged him with overseeing the organization's efforts to help businesses in the region grow. Mayer has founded and exited multiple start-ups in the technology and finance sectors. His areas of expertise are in finance, securities and quantitative analysis. Mayer has founded and worked with numerous businesses covering a broad range of industry sectors ranging from start-up ventures to Fortune 500 companies. He was previously a consultant to Spark's Business Accelerator clients since 2007. Mayer has served as a consultant to emerging companies, helping them with early-stage strategic planning.  He developed financial models, investor road shows and advised on commercialization strategies for companies across the U.S. Mayer is a graduate of the University of Michigan, where he earned a bachelor of business administration degree. Inforum names new West Michigan marketing staffer: Grand Rapids-based Inforum West Michigan has named Holly Higginson as its new marketing and event coordinator. In addition to the management and promotion of Inforum events, Higginson is also responsible for maintaining relationships with current Inforum members as well as coordinating communications among Inforum regions in West, Mid and Southwest Michigan. A graduate of Grand Valley State University, Higginson's experience includes public relations and event management at the Grand Rapids Art Museum. She also served as President of Grand PR, a student-run firm within the university.  While attending GVSU, Higginson was also a Media Director for the National Student Advertising Competition.
