Man Arraigned In ’09 Bus Stop Shooting

A man who allegedly shot at several teens in Detroit went before a judge Thursday. The 20-year-old Demetrius Hinton was arrianged on assault with intent to murder and felony firearms charges.
Hinton is believed to be one of the gunman who opened fire on a group of Cody High School students at a city bus stop in 2009.
Bond was set at 10 percent of $10 million.
Hinton was already jailed awaiting trail in an Aug. 11, 2009 robbery that left one man dead and another wounded.
This summer, police named Hinton as a “person of interest” in the June 30, 2009, attack near Cody Ninth Grade Academy. Surveillance footage from a gas station showed two men shooting at a group of people at the bus stop.
Five of those wounded were students at the academy.
Jeffrey Brooks was charged in July in the Cody shooting.
