Car Plows Through Wall Into Waiting Room

A car parked in a handicap space suddenly went into reverse Wednesday morning, and crashed into the Old Courthouse Medical Center in Rochester Hills.

Receptionist Susan King told the Oakland Press that when the vehicle came through a wall into the patients' waiting room, it sounded like an explosion.

"Then, all of a sudden I looked up and there was a car flying through the reception area, chairs were flying, people were moving, trying to scramble to get out of the way," King said.

Gail Mulvihill, who was out in the parking lot at the time, said she wasn't sure what was going on, "I heard the collision and I thought maybe two cars had collided. Then, I looked over here and I saw the big hole in the wall," she said.

About 1o people were in the waiting room at the time of the crash. No one was seriously injured. The accident remains under investigation.
