Suspects Sought In Pizza Robbery Racket

There's been a recent string of armed robberies aimed at pizza delivery people in three Macomb County communities, and police believe they may all be related.

WWJ spoke with Warren Police Lieutenant Michael Torey who said they received a call about a 65-year-old man who was robbed after he delivered pizza to what turned out to be a vacant home, on Marie Street near 8 Mile Road.

"The suspect asked him if he had change for a hundred-dollar bill. He stated no he did not, and at that point in time he was approached from behind by another suspect who pointed a gun to the back of his head and demanded that he empty out his pockets," Torey said.

Torey said there was an altercation, and the victim received some minor injuries.

Police in Eastpointe have responded to similar incidents, and both cities are looking for two suspects in the case. Roseville has also reported armed robberies and police are investigating to see if all of these robberies may be connected.
